Qin Yan, Ph.D., was presented with the Yale Cancer Center (YCC) Class of 1961 Cancer Research Award at YCC’s annual Conclave. Established through the generosity of the Yale College Class of 1961, this annual award recognizes significant accomplishment in cancer research at Yale University by a young member of the faculty, coupled with the expectation for future outstanding contributions to our understanding of the causes of cancer and to the development of novel cancer treatments.
Yan is an Associate Professor of Pathology and a member of YCC's Genomics, Genetics, and Epigenetics Research Program. “Dr. Yan has shown exceptional leadership in breast cancer epigenetics research and the growth stopping effects of the KDM5 demethylase inhibitor,” said Mark Lemmon, Ph.D., who presented Yan with the award. “At Yale, he is the leader of the burgeoning field of epigenetics and with the generous support of the Class of '61 will continue to advance the field to the next stage.”
