OPEN: Physician-Scientist Faculty Position in Laboratory Medicine at Yale.

December 19, 2018

The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine seeks a clinician-scientist for a full time tenure-track faculty position in the Department. The successful candidate would be expected to spend 75% time or more in extramurally funded basic and/or translational investigative work in an area that would synergize with existing strengths at the Medical School and University. The particular field of investigation is not limited to any single area. The remaining effort would be in any clinical pathology clinical area along with educational duties. Candidates should be MDs or MD/PhDs who are Board certified/eligible in Clinical Pathology or in an appropriate subspecialty of Laboratory Medicine or other relevant Board. Individuals who are clinical laboratory trained PhDs certified by the ABCC, ABMM, or ABMGG who plan a clinician-scientist career are also encouraged to apply. The Yale Laboratory Medicine Department has a long tradition of excellence in basic, translational, and clinical biomedical research. The Department also has a physician-scientist track residency program, physician-scientist track fellowships in six subspecialties as well as NIH-funded pre/post-doctoral training programs in both Immunology-Hematology-Transfusion Medicine and in Virology. We have faculty especially strong in these areas, as well as in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering and Molecular Biology.

Rank is dependent on the successful candidate’s qualifications. More information on the Department may be found at http://labmed.yale.edu. Please send a cover letter and a CV to http://apply.interfolio.com/52464. Applications will be accepted immediately and until the position is filled. Pre-application inquiries about the position can be addressed to the search committee chair, Dr. Stephanie Eisenbarth (stephanie.eisenbarth@yale.edu). Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its students, staff, and faculty and strongly welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities.
