When should I use email encryption?

You should use email encryption when transmitting confidential data to any email address that is not yale.edu or ynhh.org.


How do I create an encrypted email?

Using your YaleConnect Office 365 email account, in the beginning of the subject line of the message include the word encrypt with brackets around it: [Encrypt] or [encrypt].
For example:

SUBJECT: [encrypt] Please review today

Encrypting an email message will also encrypt any attachments included with the message.
