Dr. Tinika Montgomery is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Nephrology at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Montgomery received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University in 2002, and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2006. She was commissioned as an Ensign reservist in the United States Navy upon her matriculation at UVA, and subsequently promoted to an active duty Lieutenant upon her graduation. She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She resigned from active duty military status in 2013, following four years of naval service as a staff internist, to pursue clinical and research fellowship training in nephrology at Yale University. Following her fellowship, she joined a nephrology private practice in Savannah, GA and cultivated her clinical expertise in uronephrology. She returned to Yale University as a junior faculty member in 2020. Dr. Montgomery’s clinical and research interest concern nephrolithiasis and the impact of urologic conditions on kidney function. Dr. Montgomery is currently engaged in collaborative research on kidney stone disease.
