Dr. McKenney grew up in the American South and has ventured throughout the country for her education and clinical training. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Subsequently she moved home to North Carolina, where she studied medicine and population health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, obtaining her medical degree and master's degree in public health. She then moved to Chicago for OB/GYN residency training at Northwestern University's Prentice Women's Hospital and John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County. Her current clinical work includes full-spectrum obstetrics and gynecology in both the outpatient and hospital settings.
As a resident, Dr. McKenney earned teaching awards for both medical student and junior resident education and served as Education Chief Resident during her final year of residency. She is excited to be involved in the education of medical students and residents in her role as a clinician educator.
