Biography

Dr. Freed has been in clinical cardiology practice since 1999 in the greater New Haven area, specializing in Women and Heart Disease. She completed medical school at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and residency in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She completed Cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School. While there, she also concentrated on echocardiography, performing research on mitral valve prolapse at the Framingham Heart Study. She is board certified in cardiology and echocardiography. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Freed has been an avid advocate and lecturer for Women and Heart Disease. Dr. Freed now serves as the director of Yale New Haven Hospital's Women's Heart and Vascular Program.
