WHRY Studies Source of Sex Differences in Coronavirus

Reports from around the world are finding that men are more likely to suffer severe illness and die from COVID-19 than women, and it is unclear why.

Women's Health Research at Yale has launched a new study in which Dr. Akiko Iwasaki and Dr. Aaron Ring are investigating how different immune responses of women and men could account for the observed health outcomes.

Dr. Iwasaki recently spoke with FOX61 to discuss the importance of this work in creating effective treatment and prevention strategies to improve health outcomes for all.
