Dr. Tal's Lab

Research Interests

Dr. Tal’s lab studies the role of stem cells in reproductive physiology and pathology. Bone marrow-derived stem cells have been shown to migrate to the uterus where they differentiate into non-hematopoietic lineages within the endometrium. Dr. Tal’s research aims to understand the importance of this phenomenon and elucidate its underlying mechanisms. Dr. Tal’s lab has developed a non-gonadotoxic bone marrow transplant regimen and ongoing investigations use transgenic/knockout mouse models and molecular techniques to characterize the contribution of these stem cells and their functional role in reproduction. The Tal lab translational focus is on recurrent implantation failure and recurrent pregnancy loss.
