Rohan Khera, MD, MS, assistant professor of medicine and biostatistics at the Yale School of Medicine, has been named associate editor at the Journal of the American Medical Association or JAMA, effective May 1, 2023.
Established in 1883, JAMA is a peer-reviewed medical journal known for publishing practice-changing science. Published by the American Medical Association, the journal has a current impact factor of 157.
“JAMA is known for publishing rigorous and transformative medical research and holds a significant place in the global medical community. The growing focus on artificial intelligence highlights the increasing value of these domains in modern medical science,” said Khera.
Khera is the recipient of multiple distinguished awards, including the 2023 ASCI Young Physician Scientist Award, the 2021 Jeremiah Stamler Distinguished Young Investigator Research Award, and the ACC Young Investigator Award.
His work at the Cardiovascular Data Science (CarDS) Lab at Yale School of Medicine and the Center for Health Informatics and Analytics within Yale’s Center for Outcomes Research & Evaluation (CORE) has leveraged a broad suite of digital healthcare data for the enhancement of care quality and development of precision care solutions.
While serving as an associate editor for JAMA, Khera will continue his AI and digital health research at Yale. This role is a testament to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital health studies in the future of medical research.
As Khera brings his expertise to JAMA, it signifies the growing synergy between traditional medical research and emerging fields like AI and digital health, paving the way for the next phase of medical innovation.
