Request for Faculty Positions (RFP)
Description:
Requests for Faculty Positions (RFP) is a process by which departments communicate their desire for Ladder Faculty hires to the Office of Academic and Professional Development (OAPD) and the Yale School of Medicine. Faculty Affairs Coordinators of each department work with the Dean’s Office to ensure that positions are supported and in line with the goals of the school.
Procedures:
The Faculty Search Process begins with the creation of an RFP. This defines the reason for appointment, faculty track and rank, as well as the funding source for the position being requested. The RFP will typically be completed by the faculty affairs department teams with input from the their department’s lead administrator, department chair, and section chief, if applicable.
The YSM RFP platform requires specifically assigned access to Salesforce. The platform allows for data entry and tracks where an RFP is in the process. System validations and automatic email notifications are built into the various stages of the RFP submission/approval process. Guides for this process are delineated below.
