Mark S. Gold

Mark S. Gold, M.D., HS ’78, the Donald R. Dizney Eminent Scholar, Distinguished Professor and chair of psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF), has been named by the university and the UF Alumni Association the 17th Distinguished Alumni Professor for 2011 to 2013. Gold has worked for nearly 40 years to develop models for understanding the effects of tobacco, cocaine, and other drugs on the brain and behavior.
