James Rothman

James Rothman, PhD, chair and Sterling Professor of Cell Biology, and professor of chemistry, has been named to the Royal Society, a fellowship of many of the world’s most eminent scientists, and the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence. He is one of seven foreign members among the 50 new members announced in April. Rothman shared the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on how molecular messages are transmitted inside and outside of our cells.
