Risch is recognized for pancreatic cancer research

Harvey Risch, MD, PhD, professor of epidemiology (chronic diseases), has received a Ruth Leff Siegel Award for Excellence in Pancreatic Cancer Research, for “novel, sustained, and substantial contributions to understanding the etiology and early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer,” such as associating colonization by Helicobacter pylori with the disease.
