The holiday recess is a time to celebrate, relax, and recharge.
To the School of Medicine Community,
2010 has been a banner year for medicine at Yale. We celebrated the school’s 200th birthday in October and have made tremendous progress on so many fronts. Whether you are a faculty member teaching and doing research in the basic sciences, a YMG clinician helping patients and mentoring students, a public health expert, a postdoc, a resident, a student, or a member of the YSM staff, I know you have been busy. Your hard work is reflected in this year’s record number of grant dollars received, patients seen, papers written and published, and students applying to our educational programs—and in the stimulating, collegial environment in which we work and study.
To all, I offer my thanks and congratulations on behalf of the school, and my wishes that 2011 will be a year of growth, good health, and happiness, for you and your family. See you in January.
Robert J. Alpern, MD
Dean and Ensign Professor of Medicine
