For the second consecutive year, a Yale team was named champion of the Medical Wilderness Adventure Race (MedWAR). Organized annually by the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association (EMRA) in conjunction with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) conference, MedWAR is designed to teach and test wilderness survival and medical skills and give residents and medical students an opportunity for hands-on wilderness medicine experience.

Throughout the 2025 course, participants tackled a series of simulated medical scenarios and questions while carrying food, water, and medical supplies over rocky terrain at 6,000 feet elevation. “Dora the Rxplorers” completed the eight-mile race in just over three hours.
