Creation of the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation

In an effort to improve patient safety, Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) have created a collaborative simulation center for education and training of health care providers across the two organizations. The simulation faculty and staff at the Yale Center for Medical Simulation and at SYN:APSE have been integrated into one team under the leadership of Leigh Evans, MD, associate professor of emergency medicine. The combined simulation center is renamed as the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation. Individuals from YNHHS and YSM, as well as from the New Haven community, will serve on an advisory board for the new center.
