The SEA/Duke Award for Excellence and Innovation in Anesthesia Education is awarded by the Society for Education in Anesthesia is to recognize people who have had a long commitment to teaching and have contributed positively to the advancement of teaching anesthesia to medical students, residents, and faculty. The 2017 winner was Roberta Hines, MD. A recognition of her leadership and reputation of the department as being in the forefront of Anesthesia Education.
