Two faculty in the Yale Department of Psychiatry have been chosen to receive the 2025 Nancy C.A. Roeske, MD, Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education from the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
Joy Reyes, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, and Aarti Gupta, MD, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry, have been chosen by the APA to receive the award representing Yale.
The award was established in honor of Nancy C.A. Roeske, MD, and serves as a tribute to her unique and creative contributions to psychiatric education. It is awarded to APA members who have made outstanding and sustaining contributions to medical student education.
Reyes is a psychiatry attending in the Transitional Age Youth psychiatric unit at Yale New Haven Hospital. She has been awarded the Clerkship Faculty Teaching Award for Outstanding Medical Student Educator and Mentor for 2022-2023 and was honored at the Yale School of Medicine Physician Associate Program graduation in December 2021 with the Outstanding Preceptor Award for her dedication and excellence in clinical education. She currently serves as the YNHH/YPH Medical Student Education Committee site representative.
Gupta actively tutors Yale School of Medicine students.
