Celebrate Downtown Crossing’s New Orange Street Intersection on June 27

June 15, 2022

Among the earliest highway removal projects in the United States, Downtown Crossing New Haven has reached a significant milestone: the opening of the Orange Street intersection (and Phase 3!). This occasion marks a reclamation of New Haven streets —with bike and pedestrian infrastructure and, for the first time in approximately 60 years, the reconnection of the Hill neighborhood to Downtown New Haven.

Please join Mayor Elicker, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, and federal, state, and local leaders and residents for the ceremonial first crossing.

When: Monday, June 27, 2022, 9:30 AM

Where: Corner of Orange Street & Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

Free event parking located at 11 Orange Street and 29 George Street, New Haven—just a 3 minute walk from the event.
