Annual Event Brings Together Future Surgeons Across Disciplines

1 Minute Read

The Department of Surgery hosted its third annual Surgery Student Social on Jan. 30, welcoming medical students, faculty, and residents from across Yale School of Medicine for an afternoon of connection and conversation.

Led by Clerkship Director Felix Lui, MD, and organized by Clerkship Coordinator Danette Morrison, the event provides a relaxed, informal setting for students with an interest or curiosity in surgical training to engage with faculty and residents across specialties, outside of traditional clinical and didactic environments.

The 2026 gathering brought together six departments—Anesthesiology, OB/GYN, Urology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and Surgery—representing 16 surgical specialties under one roof.
