Mena-Hurtado Appointed to AHA PVD Council

Carlos Mena-Hurtado, MD, an associate professor of medicine, has been appointed to serve on the American Heart Association (AHA) Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) as a member at large of the PVD Leadership Committee and a member PVD Nominating Committee, effective July 1.

The Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease Leadership Committee supports vascular health professionals by expanding educational opportunities and advancing basic science and clinical research to improve clinical outcomes for individuals with PVD. The Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease Nominating Committee submits nominations for AHA President Elect, Board of Director, Gold Heart Awards, Presidential Session Awards, National Committees, and Council Committees.

In his advisory role, Mena-Hurtado will contribute to the AHA's science positions, statements, and programs. He will also develop and oversee strategies for leadership development.
