Meet Jean LeMoine, Senior Administrative Assistant II, Digestive Diseases
Tell us about your role in the Yale Department of Internal Medicine.
I am a senior administrative assistant II in the Section of Digestive Diseases. I create all of our providers' schedules using a program called QGenda. I create clinic, procedure, inpatient services, and on-call schedules.
Creating schedules is like putting together a huge master puzzle. Every day can be a challenge, as nothing ever stays the same. We have learned to roll with all changes and adapt on the fly. It makes each day interesting!
Why did you decide to work at Yale School of Medicine?
I have been working with the Section of Digestive Diseases since I first joined the university eight years ago. The role was a perfect fit for me! I love the flexibility, along with the ability to grow. The relationships I have made with everyone across our section have been the most rewarding part. I am also fortunate to receive tremendous support from our leadership.
Have you been involved in any projects that you are particularly proud of?
When I first joined, we made all our schedules on paper! About seven years ago, we began to use QGenda to create our schedules. I started this program from the ground up, building a fully functioning scheduling system that now houses all clinical responsibilities for all faculty, fellows, and advanced practitioners. Daily schedules are an important part of each provider's life. I take pride in understanding my role in this vital work, and in ensuring that schedules are accurate and complete.
What are some things you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy hanging out with great friends and family—especially my fur baby, Bunker! I love watching or attending UConn women's basketball games, and I also love a good workout.
What is one piece of advice you will never forget?
My mom told me, “Be true to yourself, and everything else will fall into place.”
