Margaret J. Bia, MD, Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Margaret J. Bia, MD, professor emerita of medicine (nephrology), has received a lifetime achievement award from the National Kidney Foundation Serving Connecticut and Massachusetts. She received the honor November 1 at the foundation's Night of Hope in Prospect, Conn.

Bia has practiced nephrology with an emphasis on kidney transplant for more than 30 years. Her leadership positions have included director of transplant medicine (until 1998) and director of the Clinical Skills Program at Yale School of Medicine (1998 - 2014).
