Sarah Lichenstein, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, has received a career development grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
The grant, “Connectome-based neuromarkers of problem cannabis use,” aims to identify a neural network predictive of problem cannabis use, and to characterize the development of this network both before and after cannabis use onset to elucidate the neural basis of problem use and facilitate the development of novel prevention and early intervention efforts to mitigate potential cannabis-related harms for individuals at high risk.
Lichenstein’s mentors are Drs. Godfrey Pearlson, Sarah W. Yip, Michael Stevens, BJ Casey, and Dustin Scheinost.
Lichenstein is a 2018 graduate of the Yale Department of Psychiatry’s Doctoral Internship in Clinical and Community Psychology.
