Why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
Medicine was the ideal career choice for me, as it has provided me with the joy of helping those in need and satisfied my intellectual curiosity. Throughout my medical journey, endocrinology stood out with its fascinating pathophysiology, complex thought process, and challenging decision-making. I have enjoyed every step so far.
What was your path to Yale?
After graduating from the University of Athens Medical School, Greece's oldest and most prestigious medical school, I decided to pursue residency training in the United States. I trained at the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus. I was then accepted to the Yale Endocrinology Fellowship program, which I selected for the broad clinical training and the opportunity to work with dedicated, world-renowned faculty.
Why did you choose Yale Department of Internal Medicine for your fellowship?
I knew that Yale would guarantee outstanding clinical training in endocrinology and that I would have the chance to work with distinguished faculty members. From my interview, I sensed the collegial environment and the commitment of leadership and faculty to advancing fellows' careers.
What do you enjoy about living in New Haven?
I enjoy the natural beauty of the numerous parks and the picturesque Yale Old Campus. And, of course, I love pizza!
