Lunches With Your Deans
Dean Illuzzi is planning a series of lunches for students in each class with her and the associate deans in medical education. This is an opportunity to chat about the new YSM Strategic Plan for medical education, the re-accreditation process for our school, and anything else on your mind.
The lunches will start with the 2nd year students in November and December and will follow with the other classes after the new year.
- Last Names F-K: Monday, November 7th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM
- Last Names L-P: Thursday, December 1st from 1:00 – 2:00 PM; likely Café Med seating area
- Last Names A-E: Friday, December 2nd from 1:00 – 2:00 PM; likely Café Med seating area
- Last Names R-Z: Wednesday, December 7th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM; likely Beaumont Room
Megan Pendagast will send you Outlook invites with final locations. If you are not able to attend your scheduled date, please contact Megan to sign up for a different date or to let her know if you have any dietary restrictions.
Lockers for MS1 & MS2 Students
The Office of Student Affairs has lockers available to pre-clerkship students. The lockers are in Sterling Hall of Medicine, SHM C-E1, located beneath the SHM Rotunda.
- If you would like to have a locker for your belongings for either the academic year or for the entire pre-clerkship period, submit the following request form: cglink.me/2dA/s79694
- Once the Office of Student Affairs receives your request, they will provide you with a locker number and combination lock within 1 business day. If you have any questions, contact ysm.studentaffairs@yale.edu.
- At the end of the period of time you choose to have your locker, you will be expected to clean out all of your items and notify the Office of Student Affairs that the locker is vacant by emailing them at ysm.studentaffairs@yale.edu.
Lockers for ATP Students
Lockers are available for students during the ATP. The lockers are located on the third-floor connector between YNHH and the Hunter Building, near surgery, SP3 Bypass Corridor.
- Lockers are 3 ft. x 1 ft. and 18 inches deep.
- Students may sign up for a locker any time throughout the ATP using this link: ATP Locker Request.
- Locks for the lockers are provided by the Office of Curriculum. Once you request a locker, instructions for lock pick-up will be provided.
Flu Vaccinations
It is mandatory for all Yale Medical students to be vaccinated. This is required as part of the Community Compact for all Yale students and is required of all healthcare workers.
The deadline for all medical students to be vaccinated has passed. If you have not been vaccinated, review the options for getting your flu shot with the Find Your Flu Shot Tool.
To request exemption for the flu vaccine requirement, students must complete an Influenza Vaccination Medical or Religious Waiver Form and email it to immunization@yale.edu. A hyperlink to this form can be found on the Yale Health Flu page noted above.
