D'Souza Elected to SIRS Board

Deepak Cyril D’Souza, MD, professor of psychiatry, has been elected to the board of directors of the Schizophrenia International Research Society (SIRS).

D’Souza’s term will begin at the end of the SIRS Business Meeting on April 7 at the 2022 Congress in Florence, Italy.

SIRS is a worldwide organization that brings together researchers and clinicians in schizophrenia and related disorders. Its members promote and collaborate on scientific research, train young researchers in the field, and work to increase public understanding of the personal, familial, and societal impact on people diagnosed with schizophrenia and related disorders.

D’Souza is director of the Schizophrenia Neuropharmacology Research Group at Yale School of Medicine and director of the Schizophrenia Research Clinic at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System and Connecticut Mental Health Center.
