Jill Lacy, MD, Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology) at Yale Cancer Center, has been awarded a Yale Medicine Distinguished Clinical Career Award. The award was created by Yale Medicine to recognize and honor the careers of physicians marked by significant accomplishments, exemplary dedication, and important contributions in advancing Yale Medicine, the overall medical profession, and the community. Lacy is one of the five recipients of the award this year.
Lacy’s clinical practice is devoted to caring for patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. She is the principal investigator on clinical trials for gastrointestinal malignancies, including gastroesophageal, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. Lacy was recently named a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO).
“It’s no surprise Dr. Lacy was honored with this distinguished award,” said Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD, Chief of Medical Oncology and Associate Cancer Center Director for Translational Research at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital. “Dr. Lacy’s distinguished accomplishments in gastrointestinal cancer research, patient care, and education and mentorship have served a road map and role model for others.”
Due to COVID restrictions, a formal award ceremony honoring the YM Distinguished Clinical Career Award recipients, as is tradition, will take place at a future date.
