March 20, 2018

For the 3rd year in a row, Dr. Branden Cord, a 6th year neurosurgical resident and in-folded endovascular fellow, presented at the Live International Neuroradiology & Neurosurgery Course (LINNC) in NYC (March 16-17, 2018). His abstract was among 18 selected for oral presentation at this international meeting. It was entitled, “Trans-circulation stent-coiling of an aneurysm in the setting of subarachnoid hemorrhage.” Congratulations to Branden!

His project was supervised by Dr. Charles Matouk, Section Chief of Neurovascular Surgery. The Section of Neurovascular Surgery offers comprehensive care of patients with intracranial aneurysms including open surgical and advanced endovascular options. Treating over 160 aneurysms per year, we are the largest neurovascular program in Connecticut and one of the largest in New England. The technique used to treat this complex aneurysm involved the creative use of a new, braided micro-stent.
