Miraj U. Desai, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry, was selected as one of the National Minority Quality Forum's (NMQF) 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health.

The award recognizes recipients’ accomplishments in the healthcare field and potential to continue positively impacting minority communities.

Per the NMQF press release: "Since 2016, NMQF has selected 40 minority health leaders under the age of 40 who have been leading the charge to better patient outcomes and build sustainable healthy communities. These leaders are clinicians, patient advocates, researchers and policy makers. Despite the unexpected trials in health care during the past couple of years, these 40 leaders persevered in strengthening their communities and reducing health disparities."

Desai has been on the Yale faculty since 2015. His research focuses on cultural, community, and social justice perspectives on mental health.
