November 25, 2019

The 27th Annual Hunger and Homelessness Auction will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Café Med, Harkness Hall, 367 Cedar Street, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please save the date! Many people look forward to this event each year and we encourage you to consider attending if you have not in the past.

Admission is $5 for students, $10 for faculty/alumni/other guests

All are welcome and no RSVP is necessary!

The 2019 Hunger and Homelessness Auction website is now open to accept auction items and monetary donations!

Every year since 1993, the Yale School of Medicine Hunger and Homelessness Auction has raised thousands of dollars to support organizations in the New Haven area that seek to alleviate poverty in our communities. This event is made possible by contributions from all members of the YSM community, including student organizers and faculty and staff attendees. The proceeds from this event go towards funding local non-profit groups working to address issues of food and housing insecurity in the New Haven area. Grant recipients have included the Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services organization, New Haven Farms, Youth Continuum, and many more.

We rely on auction items donated by faculty, staff, and students. If you have donated in the past or would like a new opportunity to support wonderful organizations in our community, please consider donating this year. Any donation is much appreciated—and we love to see the creativity, skills, and passion represented in many of the contributions (see the end of this email for a sample list of past faculty/staff/student donations). We will be accepting donations of auction items up until December 1, but you can also make monetary donations using our website through the auction on December 3.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.

Best,
