Chambers publishers textbook for integrated addiction and mental health treatment system

R. Andrew "Andy” Chambers, MD, a 2000 graduate of the Yale Department of Psychiatry Residency and Neuroscience Training Program, and Basic Science Fellowship in Addictions in 2002, has published “The 2 x 4 Model: A Neuroscience-based Blueprint for the Modern Integrated Addiction and Mental Health Treatment System.”

The translational textbook of addiction psychiatry neuroscience, clinical training, and research describes a complete integrative model and operational guide for physician-led clinics that can treat any major addiction and any major mental illness, in any comorbid combination, by one team, under one roof.

The book outlines standards of care and tools needed for integrating diagnostics, psychotherapies, and medication management of comorbid disorders while emphasizing multidisciplinary clinical training and research on comorbid addictions and mental illness.

Chambers is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Addiction Psychiatry Training Program and Dual Diagnosis Neuroscience lab at Indiana University School of Medicine.
