YCSC Assistant Professor Uche Aneni, MD, MHS was selected to be part of the inaugural cohort of 2022 AIM-AHEAD Fellowship Program in Leadership, a National Institutes of Health program established to enhance the participation and representation of underrepresented researchers in the field of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), through the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD).
The fellowship program will provide Aneni with mentoring and training in the application of AI/ML to address problems with early identification of adolescents at risk for substance misuse and mental disorders. The fellowship will also provide training focused on using AI/ML approaches to address disparities in risk identification and access to care and will enable Aneni to acquire leadership skills that facilitate community engagement and AI/ML informed implementation strategies that address problems with access to care for adolescents.
