A Day in the Life of a PA Student: Milana Marsh
A Day in the Life of a PA Student
Where did you grow up and where were you living immediately prior to Yale?
I was born and raised in Oregon, although I lived in California for 13 years prior to moving to Connecticut.
Why did you choose Yale School of Medicine?
I chose to attend Yale because of the supportive faculty, collaborative environment, and the caliber of the institution. During my interview, I saw a commitment to student wellbeing and development that was unparalleled. The incredible resources, such as cadaver labs and expert guest lecturers, were yet another component of my decision.
Can you briefly describe your schedule on a typical weekday?
On a typical weekday, I start my day at Harkness Gym which is available to YSM students 24 hours a day. After the gym, I head to the PA building for classes which are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. I love to hang out and eat lunch with my classmates during our break! I usually go to the library after classes to study and then head home for dinner in the evening. I’ll then do some more Anki review and wind down with my favorite show, Gilmore Girls (which is based in CT!)
What neighborhood do you live in?
I live in downtown New Haven.
What is your favorite thing to do in/near New Haven?
I love exploring the local hikes, particularly in East Rock! The colors are absolutely beautiful in the fall, and it's a wonderful place to unwind and spend time in nature.
Do you have any final thoughts or advice for prospective students?
My advice is to keep up with your hobbies and creative pursuits! School is challenging and often time-consuming, but making time for the things that make you happy is possible and so important!
