Yale Memorial Service for Sidney J. Blatt, PhD

Yale University will hold a memorial service for Sidney J. Blatt, Ph.D. who died on May 11, 2014. The service will be held on Sunday, November 16th beginning at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow immediately thereafter. The memorial will take place at the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale, which is located at 80 Wall Street in New Haven.

Yale President Peter Salovey will be joined by members of Dr. Blatt's family and other Yale faculty in offering remembrances of this fine man and his many contributions.

Dr. Blatt received his PhD from the University of Chicago, followed by postdoctoral training at Michael Reese Hospital and psychoanalytic training at the Western New England Institute for Psychoanalysis. He came to Yale in 1960 as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology. He joined the Department of Psychiatry in 1963 where he rose to the rank of Professor and served as Chief of the Psychology Section for close to 50 years.

Please join Dr. Blatt's family, friends, and colleagues in this celebration of his life and legacy.
