July 31, 2020

The Yale Department of Psychiatry Residency Program ranked second nationally in research and third in reputation in Doximity’s 2020-21 Residency Navigator program, released July 30.

The Residency Navigator is a comprehensive directory of residency programs in the United States created by Doximity, an online networking service for medical professionals.

The Yale Psychiatry Residency Program has consistently ranked among the top U.S. residency programs in the poll, with results determined by peer nominations, ratings, and hand-written reviews.

Also this week, U.S. News & World Report again ranked Yale New Haven Hospital Behavioral Health Services among the top 10 hospitals for psychiatry in its 2020-21 Best Hospitals rankings. YNHH placed tenth among adult psychiatry hospitals to maintain its long presence in the national rankings.

The Yale Department of Psychiatry tops all U.S. medical schools in grant funding for psychiatric research from the National Institutes of Health, according to the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.
