Francine LoRusso, RN, has been appointed Vice President and Executive Director for Heart and Vascular Services, effective March 1, 2020.

Francine has a distinguished career in cardiac services at Yale New Haven Health System, both in clinical nursing and senior leadership roles. She was appointed Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) and Transplantation Center in 2014. In 2009 she led an initiative at Yale New Haven Hospital to provide a 24/7 leadership model to enhance the culture of safety, provide seamless care delivery, and oversee performance standards.

In her current role as Vice President Nursing Heart and Vascular Center, Transplantation and Medicine, Francine has been instrumental in developing an infrastructure for Heart and Vascular services across the Health System and partnering with clinical and administrative leadership to establish a standard of care for our cardiovascular patients. As Vice President, she will work closely with local delivery networks, Yale Medicine and Northeast Medical Group leadership to expand specialty Heart and Vascular services across the Health System.

“The HVC has flourished under Francine’s leadership. She has a daily impact on our section, and I look forward to our continued partnership,” said Eric Velazquez, MD.
