Tariq Ahmad to Serve on the Faculty Advisory Council

December 03, 2019

Tariq Ahmad, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine), has been elected to represent Yale Cardiovascular Medicine on the Faculty Advisory Council (FAC). He succeeds Jeptha Curtis, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) who just completed a productive two year term.

The FAC serves as a forum for faculty to discuss concerns and academic priorities with the Dean. Representatives are elected for a renewable two-year term. Jeffrey Bender, MD, the Robert I. Levy Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) and Professor of Immunobiology, served as the inaugural FAC Chair in 2015-17, representing Internal Medicine.

Dr. Bender commented, “I am thrilled that Tariq has been elected to represent our faculty during this time of transition. I know he is committed to bring our concerns and constructive suggestions to the Dean’s office. I look forward to our future progress with the incoming Dean.”
