Two trainees in the Solnit Integrated Training Program at Yale School of Medicine have been chosen to receive 2018 Pilot Research Awards by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
Andrea Diaz Stransky, MD, will be recognized with the Pilot Award for Attention Disorders, and Emily Olfson, MD, PhD, will receive the Pilot Award for General Psychiatry Residents. They will be honored at the Junior Research Scholar Lunch during AACAP’s 66th Annual Meeting in Chicago in October 2019.
The Pilot Awards provide up to $15,000 for junior faculty, fellows, and residents who have an interest in a career in child and adolescent mental health research. The awards help reduce the current shortage of clinical researchers by getting young investigators engaged in mental health research programs.
Diaz Stransky completed her medical degree at Escuela de Medicina Ignacio A. Santos in Mexico in 2013, and Olfson completed the MD/PhD program at Washington University School of medicine in St. Louis in 2016.
The Solnit Integrated Training Program is a 6-year research track residency for physicians who want to specialize in child psychiatry. It is a collaboration between the Yale Department of Psychiatry and Yale Child Study Center.
