Dr. Barash awarded the 2015 SEA Duke award for Excellence and Innovation in Anesthesia Education

The SEA/Duke Award for Excellence and Innovation in Anesthesia Education is awarded by the Society for Education in Anesthesia is to recognize people who have had a long commitment to teaching and have contributed positively to the advancement of teaching anesthesia to medical students, residents, and faculty. The 2015 winner was Dr. Paul Barash, Professor of Anesthesiology, who received the award at the SEA meeting October 23, 2015, in San Diego California. This is a highly coveted award whose winners have demonstrated a contribution to anesthesia education along with a love for teaching. Dr. Barash embodies the principles supported by this award. At the ceremony he spoke about the books that shaped his life and career. Dr. Barash has been a faculty member at Yale for over 4 decades, and was chairman of the Department from 1983 until 1994.
