Pasko Rakic, MD, PhD
Dorys McConnell Duberg Professor of Neuroscience and Professor of Neurology
Dr. Rakic has been at the forefront of research into neurodevelopment for several decades. He has received numerous prestigious awards and prizes, among them induction into the National Academy of Sciences (USA) and the inaugural (2008) Kavli Neuroscience Prize. His work has garnered over 70,000 citations (as of September 2017) and he has trained over 50 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, seven of them becoming department chairs or directors of institutes. Dr. Rakic founded the Section of Neuroanatomy (now Department of Neuroscience) at Yale in 1978. He was joined in 1979 by his wife, the late Patricia Goldman-Rakic, and together they generated the slides and EM blocks that constitute MacBrainResource. For further details, see History.
