Danielle has studied geographical bias in preclinical medical education, based on an analysis of USMLE Step 1 review materials. She has also studied 5-HTTLPR modulation of amygdala functional connectivity and emotional regulation. She was involved in virtual tutoring for Grade 6 students in the Detroit area during the pandemic and has volunteered in the student-run free clinic. She was president of her local SIGN chapter and worked as a mentor for the American Medical Women's Association. She enjoys weightlifting/fitness, fiction, narrative nonfiction, snowboarding, skiing, cooking Italian food, and plant-based recipes.
