Su Deng, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Urology, received a Young Investigator Award from the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The award aims to identify a cohort of future research leaders who will keep the field of prostate cancer research vibrant with new ideas. Deng, a cancer biologist, focuses on understanding the mechanisms of therapy resistance in advanced prostate cancer and developing strategies to overcome it.

Gerald I. Shulman, MD, PhD, George R. Cowgill Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology), was awarded the 2025 Von Mering Gold Medal by the board of directors of the German Diabetes Center in recognition of his pioneering studies in elucidating the cellular and molecular basis of insulin resistance. Shulman is also co-director of the Yale Diabetes Research Center and an investigator emeritus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Hospital resident Ellen Cahill, MD, received the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons (SUPS) Travel Award to attend the SUPS/Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) Residents' Education Surgical Lab at the 2025 SMSNA annual meeting. Cahill’s research interests are focused on sexual medicine and male infertility.

Meaghan Conway, PA-C, lead outpatient urology physician assistant at Yale New Haven Hospital, was awarded the health system's October APPlause Award, which honors Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who have gone above and beyond their regular work duties. Conway’s nomination cited her "extraordinary dedication to orienting new outpatient APPs,” adding that, “In a high-volume outpatient setting, this is a particularly complex and demanding task that she undertakes with incredible skill and grace.”
