REMINDER: Transition to DocuSign begins July 1, 2025

June 20, 2025

Adobe Sign Transition to DocuSign Effective July 1

As previously announced by Health Sciences IT, beginning July 1, DocuSign will become Yale University’s preferred e-signature tool, replacing Adobe Sign. The change will provide enhanced security, tracking capabilities, and strengthen the confidentiality of legal documents. Please download and securely store any historical documentation to your OneDrive account before the program is shut down at the end of the business day on June 30.

Note that this change only applies to e-signatures on legally binding documents that were previously used through the Adobe Sign tool. You can still use Adobe Acrobat for all other digital signatures.

Planning and Budgeting Implications

For planning and budgeting purposes, departments will be charged for their respective DocuSign usage with the costs outlined below. An “envelope” refers to a single-use transaction, which can contain multiple documents and be sent to multiple recipients. Each envelope sent counts toward your plan’s allowance, whether the recipient signs or completes any documentation.

  • $3.15/envelope (non-Code for Federal Regulations (CFR) Part-11)
  • $6.77/envelope (CFR Part-11 compliant)
