Registration is now open for the Center for Medical Education's 2026-27 educator development programs, including the Yale Educator Series (YES!) and the Medical Education Discussion Group (MEDG). The first program kicks off on Sept. 11. All sessions last one hour and are held over Zoom. They are free of charge to anyone at Yale, and CME credit is offered.

Friday, Sept. 11 – YES! “Crafting a Fulfilling and Meaningful Career as a Medical Educator” with Viji Kurup, MD
Participants will explore practical strategies for professional growth, including finding mentors and collaborators, developing an area of educational passion, engaging in innovation, assessment, scholarship, and leadership, and creating a meaningful academic portfolio.
Thursday, Sept. 24 – MEDG: “Trainee Well-Being Through the Lens of Flourishing: Practical Strategies for Health Professions Educators” with David Vermette, MD, MBA, MHS, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, Washington University School of Medicine" (co-hosted with General Internal Medicine)
Explore trainee well-being through the comprehensive lens of "flourishing,” a holistic framework incorporating meaning, purpose, virtue, and social relationships alongside physical and mental health. The session will offer practical interventions for cultivating supportive educational environments where trainees can truly thrive.
Friday, Sept. 25 – YES! “Artful Questioning and the Lessons of Socrates: Optimizing Small Group Learning” with Stephen Holt, MD, MS
In this session, the instructor will teach and demonstrate six evidence-based teaching strategies that will enhance your skills at noon conference teaching or any type of teaching.
