Nominations for the 2026 Yale Medicine Leffell Prize for Clinical Excellence Award are due by Friday, April 10, 2026. This award is open for nomination from any Yale Medicine (YM) faculty member. Nominations, including a letter summarizing how the nominee meets the criteria below and a copy of their CV, should be sent to Richard Martinello via leeann.lofaro@yale.edu. Criteria for the David and Cindy Leffell Prize for Clinical Excellence:
- Assistant professor rank or above
- Minimum of three years at Yale Medicine
- Minimum of 50% clinical FTE
- Current chairs and past recipients are excluded
- Recipient is known for:
- Quality of care/outcomes
- Patient satisfaction
- Accessibility and communication with referring physicians and patients
- Practice/program development
- Contribution to the educational mission of Yale School of Medicine
- Scholarly activity
- Involvement in the community
