Honoring Frederick Frank
The lecture honors Frederick Frank ’54, a pioneering investment banker and venture capitalist whose more than 50-year Wall Street career helped establish biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services as areas of investment specialization. Frank graduated from Yale with a degree in philosophy, served in the U.S. Army in Europe, and earned an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
A longtime advisor and generous supporter of Yale, particularly for the Yale School of Management, Frank supported student scholarships, language study, and faculty appointments, including the Frederick Frank Class of 1954 Professorship of Management and Finance. Together with his wife, Mary Tanner, he also supported a professorship in economics and a conference facility honoring David Swensen.
The lecture is sponsored by Tanner and hosted in partnership with Yale School of Management, Yale School of Medicine, and Yale Ventures.
Admission is free, but registration is required. Community members are encouraged to register and learn more on the Frederick Frank Memorial Lecture event page.
