Vote Now! Support Yale New Haven Hospital in the 2026-2027 U.S. News 'Best Hospital’ Rankings

2 Minute Read

The online voting period for the U.S. News & World Report 2026-2027 "Best Hospitals" and “Best Children’s Hospitals” survey is now open. You can help promote awareness of our department’s high-quality care and pioneering research by voting for Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.

For the rankings methodology, U.S. News partners with Doximity to generate the reputational portion (or “expert opinion”) of the rankings. The reputational score in each specialty plays an important role in the calculation, and your vote contributes to that score.

Here is how the reputational score contributes to the rankings in adult specialties:

  • 12% for Cardiology & Heart & Vascular Surgery; Neurology & Neurosurgery; Obstetrics & Gynecology; and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery
  • 15% for Cancer; Diabetes & Endocrinology; Ear, Nose & Throat; Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; Geriatrics; Orthopedics; and Urology
  • 30% for Rehabilitation
  • 100% for rankings in Ophthalmology, Psychiatry and Rheumatology

In the pediatric specialty rankings, the weight of expert opinion is 5% in Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery and 10% in all other pediatric specialties.

How to Vote

  • To be eligible, you must be board-certified in one of the ranked specialties, have an active and claimed Doximity profile, and meet the criteria for the specialty category. All your certifications and board documents must also be up to date in your profile.
  • Register on Doximity if you haven’t already. See these instructions.
  • Cast your vote by navigating to the U.S. News & World Report page on the Doximity site.
  • Vote for Yale New Haven Hospital on the first line. Vote for other health system hospitals on the other lines, which can help with regional rankings. You do not need to vote for five hospitals.

Please Vote as Soon as Possible

The voting window is open for a limited time and closes once U.S. News reaches a specific volume.

Your prompt action is vital to promoting our outstanding specialty programs and the exceptional care we provide to patients.
