All materials representing Yale Medicine and the clinical work of Yale School of Medicine must adhere to Yale HIPAA guidelines. Protection of Personal Health Information is required for all photography and writing for printed and digital materials.
Websites and Promotion
Official YSM and YM entities should collaborate with the YSM Office of Communications regarding templated websites and various other marketing and promotion needs.
Events
If you are hosting a significant event (lecture, grand rounds, seminar), ensure that it’s posted in the YSM calendar tool and submitted to appear in the News Digest, a weekly email that goes to over 12,000 subscribers.
Photography
- All photography for printing or web purposes should be professionally shot with attribution documented, or entirely coordinated by the YSM Office of Communications
- NO IMAGES OF ANIMAL RESEARCH OR IMPLICATION OF ANIMAL RESEARCH should be printed or posted

When using social media, keep in mind that you are representing the Yale School of Medicine to the general public. Be mindful of tone and abide by copyright and marketing policies.
