Beyond the Madness of March: Improving the Health of Female Athletes

Did you know that only 23 percent of participants in the 1,800 studies about dietary supplements for athletes have been women? Or that fewer than 1 percent of these studies examined the impacts relating to menstruation?

Now that the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournament has reached its conclusion, it's a good time to look at the unique health concerns faced by female athletes. Including supplements but also something known in medicine as the female athlete triad.
